Sometime in mid-May (2020), I started thinking that this fun thing I was doing to keep busy during quarantine-teaching classes to my beloved clients from my basement via Zoom – could turn into an actual business. I LOVED what I was doing, my client base was growing and I had flexibility in my schedule -something I hadn’t really had before.
I started to map out a business plan with my husband and a trusted friend. I started talking to select clients to get their opinion on this new idea of a virtual gym -price, class schedule and variety, future expansion, etc. I formed an LLC, got a domain name, got insurance…and kept it all really quiet because I was terrified to actually take that next step -because that step was the big one…the official one.
Then, I saw a quote a friend posted on Instagram. It was really plain -white lettering on a black background -but it put everything into focus for me and allowed me to take that leap. It said: “that risk you’re afraid to take, could be the one that changes your entire life.” I announced my new business that day.
Change is scary but it is also how we grow.
I am so happy I took the risk. Now, I have a business of my own, clients that I love, more flexibility in my schedule and more time with my family. Change is good!
