Marc Laqui is a true inspiration to me. I’ve known Marc for years -since our oldest children started Kindergarten together. In more recent years, we have gotten to know each other better as our kids have become good friends and teammates. I’ve observed Marc’s amazing weight loss journey and his struggle with his injury and noticed one important thing- the man does not give up!
Before I started HomeBodies Fitness LLC, Marc was one of the people I consulted about it. From the jump, he was all in and completely supportive. We talked schedule, structure, everything. And, Marc has been one of my most committed members (although I do have a LOT of committed members!). He joins Live classes when he can, he always texts me feedback after taking a class in The Vault, he’s one of my die hard “Birthday Burpees” contributors and when he is in class, he brings great energy that I absolutely feed off of. I asked him to share his fitness journey and this is what he had to say. I hope it inspires you as much as it has inspired me. Thank you, Marc!
My fitness journey has had its ups and downs. Four years ago, after losing a good amount of weight, I needed a knee replacement. Being in my early forties, I felt helpless, but I didn’t have a choice. After recovering from that, I struggled to keep the weight off while finding the right fitness program to fit my new reality living with an artificial joint. Fast forward to earlier this year, I was able to lose the weight again, and began to feel comfortable exercising with the surgically repaired knee. Then the pandemic hit, and my fitness options became limited.
Once Marit started her Zoom workouts, I knew immediately I found a perfect fit. Her exercises and classes were challenging and scalable to my limitations and provided variety and instant feedback compared to finding workouts online. Once Homebodies got up and running, I didn’t hesitate in joining. I even tried Barre for the first time!
I couldn’t imagine not being a part of Homebodies – I look forward to the classes and the variety in the different workouts that get posted. I have been working with Marit since March, and I don’t think we have ever repeated a routine in the three live classes I have done each week. I know I am stronger and more fit than I was before I started, and I owe it all to her and Homebodies!
Something unique/interesting about me: our family has been to 49 of the 50 states. Only Hawaii is left and would have been crossed off the list if it weren’t for the pandemic. We have also been to games at every MLB ballpark except the two newest ones in Atlanta and Texas.
